Abducted Anambra Woman Found in Abuja Hospital, Family Seeks Urgent Help as Condition Worsens

A disturbing humanitarian case has emerged involving an Anambra State woman, Ekwutosi Winnie Nwankwo, also known as Ekwuii-Sha, who is currently battling for her life at the National Hospital, Abuja, following months of disappearance under troubling circumstances.

According to information provided by concerned sources, Winnie reportedly went missing in Abuja around December 2025. For months, her whereabouts remained unknown, raising fears of possible abduction.

She was later found and taken to the National Hospital by a tricycle operator, commonly known as a keke rider. At the time she was brought in, she was said to be in a critical condition, with severe injuries and signs suggesting prolonged physical abuse and neglect.

Due to the severity of her condition, she was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit, where she received initial medical attention. However, her treatment has reportedly been inconsistent due to financial constraints.

Sources indicate that after some time in ICU, and in the absence of sufficient funds to sustain her care, she was moved to a general ward, where access to intensive medical attention is significantly limited.

Her younger sister, Ukamaka, who is currently her closest relative and caregiver, has been making efforts to secure assistance but has been unable to meet the financial demands required for sustained treatment.

She can be reached on 0901 866 9148 for inquiries or support.

A concerned citizen, Chukwuma Onubogu, who brought attention to the case, stated that although he has no personal relationship with the victim, he stepped in to offer limited support for medications and feeding. However, he noted that his resources have been exhausted, and the situation now requires broader public intervention.

At present, Winnie remains in a vulnerable state, with her condition reportedly deteriorating due to inadequate medical care linked to funding challenges.

This case raises serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, the nature of the injuries she sustained, and the broader issue of access to urgent healthcare for victims of abuse.

Members of the public who are willing to assist or require further information are encouraged to contact her sister directly via 0901 866 9148.

The situation remains critical, and timely intervention may be crucial to saving her life.
