The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Biodun Oyebanji, has secured a second consecutive term as governor after being declared winner of the Ekiti State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
INEC announced the final results on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Oyebanji recorded victories across all 16 local government areas of the state, polling 319,224 votes to comfortably defeat his closest challenger, Wole Oluyede of the Peoples Democratic Party, who garnered 40,543 votes.
The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Oluwadare Bejide, finished third with 12,872 votes.
The final results released by INEC showed the following vote totals:

PDP – 40,543
ADC – 12,872
ADP – 1,269

AA – 126
AAC – 195
APM – 59
APP – 61

NNPP – 35
PRP – 163

The outcome confirms Oyebanji’s re-election and extends the APC’s hold on power in Ekiti State for another four years.
