Ethiopian Airline has announced resumption of flights to Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, starting September 15, 2021, Njenje Media News reports.
In a communication sent to Njenje Media News, the Airline noted that it will commence its International flight operations back to Enugu starting mid September. This will a 3x weekly service (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) to Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu.
Njenje Media News recalls, that the airport was closed for two years for international flights, first for the runway repairs in 2019/2020, later due to COVID-19 restrictions 2020/2021.
Also, recall that on the 6th of August 2021, Njenje Media TV had a 1-on-1 interview with the Chairman, South-East Governors Committee on Akanu Ibiam Airport Rehabilitation and Palliatives, Engr Sir. Chris Okoye who explained what has been done at the airport and confirmed that the airport will reopen shortly.
