APPEAL TO BAN BISHOP STEPHEN ADEGBITE, EXECUTIVE SECRETARY OF NIGERIAN CHRISTIAN PILGRIM COMMISSION FROM ISRAEL FOR DENYING CHRISTIAN GENOCIDE AND SUSPEND NIGERIAN PILGRIMAGES
On behalf of International Coalition against Christian Genocide in Nigeria, I wish to humbly express our profound gratitude to you, our amiable Prime Minister of the State of Israel for your most needed concern over the on-going genocide, blatant persecution and ignominious marginalization against Christians in Nigeria by the current Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a fundamentalist Muslim and, assisted by his equally fundamentalist Muslim Vice President Alhaji Kashim Shettima, who is undeniably acknowledged as the founder of Boko Haram terrorist organization in Nigeria.
The Rt. Hon Prime Minister Sir, I wish to humbly bring to your notice that without the ignoble collusion of Nigerian Christian leaders with our Muslim killers for a mess of portage, Nigerian Christians would not be under the present precarious circumstances facing extermination. Since 1963 population census which proved the numerical superiority of Christians over Muslims, no other population census was conducted with indication of religious affiliations. This was deliberately known by successive Muslim leaders to enable generate and sustain the false claim of Muslim majority against Christians in Nigeria.
Moreover, as Nigeria stands today, demographically, Christians have numerical superiority over Muslims as indicated by having more States governed by Christian Governors than those governed by Muslim Governors. In the same vein, Christians have more State Deputy Governors than Muslims. So, in the absence of religious indicators in the official population census of the country, the above two demographic political indicators remain the veritable proofs of Christian numerical superiority over Muslims in Nigeria.
Unfortunately, this obvious incontrovertible numerical advantage has successively been abused, misrepresented and, manipulated by Muslims with the shameless connivance of Christian leaders, particularly the leading members of the clergy, who preferred personal mundane gains to the future of their people, their religion and, their generations yet unborn.
It is against the foregoing background that I humbly present this petition on behalf of International Coalition against Christian Genocide in Nigeria (ICAC-GEN), requesting your urgent attention and, at the same time praying you to use this request as the starting point of your intervention to save persecuted Nigerian Cristians facing extermination through Genocide by State-sponsored Muslim terrorists.
The crux of this petition is anchored on the fact that those who call themselves Nigerian clergymen of all ranks and denominations are ordained inveterate liars against their flocks which they are ordained to shepherd and, against God under whose commission they are spiritually and temporally licensed to operate. I bring the case of Bishop Stephen Adegbite before your Excellency for proper action because he is the one directly entrusted with the business of Nigerian Pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Israel in his capacity as the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Bishop Stephen Adegbite who is the Methodist Bishop of Ikeja Diocese, Lagos State and, Chairman of Lagos State Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), is one of the many shameless senior Nigerian clergymen enabling the atrocious Crime of Christian Genocide and monstrous persecution of Christians in Nigeria through their unhidden brazen collaboration with the Muslim political leadership in Nigeria whose aim is to Islamize the entire nation through the processes of draconian persecution and extermination of the Christian population.
More than the ignoble Muslim leaders driving the vehicle of Genocide and persecution of Christians in Nigeria, the likes of Bishop Stephen Adegbite are the ones ignobly peddling the falsehood that there is no Genocide against Christians in Nigeria. Earlier this month (January 2026), Bishop Adegbite was in Jerusalem under the cover of addressing Nigerian pilgrims but with the devious aim of peddling this unforgivable falsehood of no Christian Genocide in Nigeria to your Government. It is therefore a reprehensible act to have such a man preside over such a sacred affair as Christian Pilgrimage to the Holy Land by Nigerian Christians.
During a news briefing held at Abuja on November 3, 2025 which was called at the instance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deny Christian Genocide, Bishop Adegbite stated quite illogically that, the killing of Christians in Nigeria “does not amount to genocide against Christians.” He went further to state:
“Churches have been attacked, pastors kidnapped, and communities displaced, but it is equally true the Muslim villages in Zamfara, Katsina, Niger, Sokoto and, Borno have been destroyed. No community can claim to have been spared. Nigerian’s crisis is not religious war, but a national security emergency rooted in terrorism and criminality.”
Your Excellency the Rt. Hon Prime Minister Sir, going through the above statement of deceit and lies, you will notice that Bishop Stephen Adegbite is a man of inveterate lying lips; an incorrigible peddler of accursed falsehoods against his slaughtered Christian Brethren. There was no mention of Christians being killed. He spoke only of villages being destroyed without telling us those who destroyed the villages. He spoke of the crisis not being religious or war but one rooted in terrorism without telling us the religious affiliations of the perpetrators and the bulk of the victims.
It should be recalled that on 31st May 2022, the same Bishop Stephen Adegbite stated in an interview recorded in a YouTube Channel that the Methodist Church of Nigeria paid a ransom of 100 million naira to the Muslim bandit kidnappers to release the Methodist Prelate of Nigeria, His Eminence Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu-Uche in the company of the Methodist Bishop of Owerri Diocese Rt. Reverend Dennis Mark and the Prelate’s Chaplain Very Reverend Abidemi Jeremiah Shittu.
Is it not therefore ridiculous and shameful that the same man should stand up to voice out his utter disgusting lies that the issue in Nigeria is not religious but ordinary terrorism and criminality? What is the religious affiliation of the perpetrators of this crime against humanity? Has any group of Christians been recorded as being the perpetrators of any crime relating to the massacre of any group of Muslims in Nigeria?
So far, liars like Bishop Adegbite have not told us what constitute Genocide as defined by Article II of the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide as ratified by UN General Assembly resolution 260 A (III) of 9 December 1948.
They have not also told us how many Muslims have been killed by Christians in the course of these acts of terrorism, or how many Muslims have been killed by these terrorists? There are copious bodies of evidence of Christian Genocide in Nigeria today, but we are yet to be shown any record of mass killing of Muslims by these Islamic terrorists. Bishop Adegbite wants the world to believe that what is happening in Nigeria is not Genocide against Christians by Muslims, here are some few instances:
On April 24, 2018, while Rev Fathers Joseph Gor and Felix Tyola¬ha were conducting early morning mass at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church in Mbalom Village in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State, when they were suddenly attacked by Muslim terrorist and subsequently slaughtered together with nineteen other members of the Church. To Bishop Stephen Adegbite this was not religiously motivated and did not in his modicum imagination constitute Genocide.
On January 2, 2020, Reverend Lawan Andimi who was the District Church Council Secretary of the Ekklesiyar Yan’uwa a Nigeria (Church of the Brethren in Nigeria) and Chairman of the Michika Local Government Area Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Adamawa State, Northeast Nigeria, was abducted, and subsequently beheaded under full video coverage by Islamic terrorists on January 20, 2020. Is Bishop Stephen Adegbite telling the world that the beheading of Reverend Lawan Andimi was not religiously motivated and Islamic jihad-driven?
On Sunday June 5, 2022, Islamic terrorists marched from the North and attacked Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Owo in Ondo State, Southern Nigeria, then the home of the incumbent Governor of the State and, killed over fifty worshippers, including over one hundred wounded. Owo is a Yoruba ethnic town and Bishop Stephen Adegbite is of Yoruba ethnic extraction. To people like Bishop Stephen Adegbite, this heinous act against innocent Christians worshipping God peacefully in their native environment does not constitute neither crime against humanity and Genocide. This kind of people should not be allowed to even accidentally set their feet on the outskirts of the State of Israel.
The Rt. Hon Prime Minister Sir, on July 1, 2022, over 70 Roman Catholic Priests held a public protest over the killing of their colleagues by Muslim insurgents; following the slaughter of Rev Fr. Vitus Borogo, then the Chaplain of the Catholic at Kaduna Polytechnic. Was Kaduna Polytechnic a farmland in contest with Fulani herdsmen?
Other Roman Catholic Priests who were slaughtered in the same manner include: 1. Rev Fr. Clement Ugwu; 2. Rev Fr. Paul Offu; 3. Rev Fr. David Tanko; 4. Rev Fr. Isaac Azekpili Achi; 5. Rev. Fr. John Gbakaan of the Diocese of Minna; 6. Rev Fr. Godfrey Chimezie of St. Theresa’s Parish, Umuahia; 7. Rev. Fr. Christopher Odia; 8. Rev Fr. Mathew Eya of St. Charles Catholic Church, Eha-Ndiagu, in Enugu State; 9. Rev Fr. Joseph Gor of Makurdi Diocese; 10. Rev Fr. Felix Tyolaha of Makurdi Diocese; 11. Fr. Sylvester Okechukwu of Diocese of Kafanchan; 12. Major Seminarians Andrew Peter of Auchi Catholic Diocese; 13. Na’Aman Danlami Stephen of Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan and; 14. Michael Nnadi of Sokoto Diocese— Bishop Matthew Kukah’s Seminarian.
The foregoing victims which exclusively dwelt mainly on Catholic priests do not include the thousands of villagers murdered in cold-blood in their homes with their villages currently occupied by these terrorists under the protection of the present Federal Government, while the Christian aboriginal owners of the land continue to dwell in IDP camps in their own country. Yet a Bishop of an established Church because of evil-driven self-centeredness will be shameless enough to tell the world that there is no Christian Genocide in Nigeria.
The Rt. Hon Prime Minister Sir, by way of conclusion, I wish on behalf of International Coalition against Christian Genocide in Nigeria, to humbly pray you to take the following urgent punitive actions as the starting point of your expected humane-driven intervention to stop the on-going persecution and Genocide against Nigerian Christians by Islamic Jihad-led Federal Government:
1. Bishop Stephen Adegbite should be banned from entering the State of Israel until both the persecution and Genocide against Christians are stopped with credible evidence. The Holy Land of Israel should be kept free of those Christians shamelessly infested with Amalekite and Philistine evil spirits.
2. Suspension of Nigerian Christian Pilgrimages to the State of Israel pending clear evidence that the twin crimes of persecution and Genocide against Christians no longer exist. If Nigerian Christians cannot rise up to defend themselves against the same kind of evil oppressors of the Jews and those who vowed to destroy the State of Israel, then they equally should be disallowed from benefitting from the fruit of the Jews who boldly confronted those who vowed to destroy them.
3. Subjection of all Christian clergymen and political office holders from Nigeria traveling to the State of Israel to integrity test with respect to their roles in the denial of Christian Genocide in Nigeria and undeterred support for the Jews and the State of Israel. An Islamized Nigerian nation under the unquestionable control of those people whose religion support the destruction of the Jews and the State of Israel is a horrific political liability to the State of Israel. This is because any Christian leader whether in the garb of a clergyman or politician who fails to acknowledge the fact of Christian Genocide in Nigeria as being perpetrated by Muslim terrorists and callously supported by the throng of Islamic leadership in Nigeria and the world at large cannot similarly accept the fact that the October 7, 2023 Hamas massacre of over 1,200 innocent Israeli civilians does not constitute Genocide against the Jews.
It is my belief that the above three humble requests if implemented will help in redirecting the decadent moral mindsets of Nigerian Christian leaders from their precipitous course of self-destruction through their horrendous alliance with those who have been issued the warrant of our destruction, to the course of self-protection and defence of our religious and political rights as Nigerian Christians as dictated by the unrivalled canons of the Holy Bible.
