Ebonyi International Airport Receives Inaugural Flight, Njenje Media News reports.

On Thursday, the Ebonyi International Airport located in Onueke, Ezza South Local Government Area of the state, received its inaugural flight. The Hopper 5N-BXF from Air Peace touched down at the airport at around 3.50 pm, with 36 citizens onboard. This was a major milestone for the state, as the airport is set to become a hub for commercial travel in the region.

The governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, welcomed the Air Peace crew and passengers at the airport and expressed his delight at the event. This marks the successful completion of the construction of the airport and its subsequent opening for commercial operations. The governor also expressed his gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for his support in making the project a reality.

The Ebonyi International Airport is the first of its kind in the South-East region and is expected to boost the economy of the state. It has a 5,000-metre runway, a 10-storey passenger terminal, and a world-class control tower. The airport also features a VIP lounge, a shopping centre, duty-free stores, restaurants, and other amenities. Additionally, the airport is equipped with the latest navigation and communication systems and has the necessary infrastructure to handle international flights.

The opening of the airport is expected to create job opportunities in the state, as well as boost tourism, trade, and investments to the region. It is also expected to reduce the cost of air travel within the state and the South-East region.
