From Professor To Dictator: Why Soludo Must Be Checked Now

The peaceful Ndi Anambra have endured enough insults from their governor. In our history, no governor, not even the military administrators, has looked down and talked down on our people the way Charles Soludo has done in the last five years. What started as big grammar and intellectual arrogance has now graduated into a dangerous betrayal of the collective interest of Anambra people, Ndigbo, and Nigerians at large, driven by a clandestine and persistent hatred and evil plot to bring down Peter Obi.

The mark of true leadership is to subdue personal ambition once it conflicts with the aspirations of the people you lead. For Soludo, the solution is the opposite — bring Peter Obi down to fulfil his own personal ambition, not minding his own poor performance. Anambra people are still waiting for the Dubai-Taiwan he promised, but what we have today is flooding, unabated erosion, and broken infrastructure. Almost every town in Anambra tasked itself to fund his campaign, expecting service in return. His payback has been brute force, endless big grammar, and a calculated move to sabotage the historic chance of Ndigbo to produce the first Igbo President.

His current plot is even more wicked. The plan is to open the Anambra treasury to ensure that Tinubu defeats Peter Obi in Anambra, just to ridicule Obi, slander the Igbo race, and selfishly pave the way for himself to contest for a VP ticket in 2031. This is not governance, it is treachery. He is misreading the resolve of Ndi Anambra. He was gifted an easy second term path without any tangible performance, and that grace is now getting into his head.

How do we get back at him and check the efficacy of all this big grammar and brutality? The answer is not violence, but the most potent weapon in a democracy — a protest vote. The best way to silence him and check his excesses is to vote out all his State House of Assembly candidates. Let him govern without a rubber-stamp assembly. That is exactly how Peter Obi governed in his first tenure when he faced an all-PDP legislature, and he still delivered. If Soludo is as competent as he claims, let him prove it under the same condition.

Let Anambra show that power belongs to the people. If he wants to fight the wish of the people, the people will use the ballot to humble him. A protest vote against his assembly candidates will be a referendum on his insults, his failure, and his anti-Igbo political plot.
