The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded the preferred and approved logo of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on its official portal, following a Federal High Court order directing the commission to recognise and use the party’s modified symbol.

The development was confirmed on October 6, 2026, with NDC National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, welcoming the update and describing it as compliance with the court’s directive.

The logo features a digitally designed two-finger victory sign on a blue background, with the acronym “NDC” displayed in red. The design was adopted at the party’s first National Executive Council meeting on March 25, 2026.

In September, the Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, ordered INEC to approve and upload the modified logo for use by the NDC in elections conducted by the commission. The court also restrained INEC from interfering with the party’s use of the design.

The logo dispute followed an earlier disagreement over whether INEC should retain the older association logo or recognise the modified design adopted by the NDC. The court ruled that the modified logo should be treated as the party’s official logo for electoral purposes.

Following the latest update, Dickson said NDC candidates could now proceed with printing campaign materials and continue their consultations and campaigns with greater certainty.

INEC’s official party directory currently lists the Nigeria Democratic Congress as a recognised and certified political party.
