Ebonyi State Governor has told residents of the state what they must do to protect themselves. The governor urge the youths and residents of the community to always be prepared. He told them to defend themselves with a stick or any other tool when they are faced with threat. He urged them not to show any sign of fear when they are faced with herdsmen.
The Ebonyi state governor, David Umahi made this Statement during a security meeting. Due to the recent cases of insecurity and Banditry in the state, the governor told the people to get themselves prepared for any attack. He said that any weapon should be used against the attackers and the people must not show fear. He told them that if the attackers uses stick as weapon, the people should also use stick. However, if they make use of other advanced weapon, the people should make use of such weapon as well.
The governor claimed that there has been many rumors that terrorist may likely attack the state. He said the criminal groups have made the country hard for everyone but this is the time when everyone needs to be ready. He said criminals with AK- 47 have launched attack in different region but such attack but be repelled by the youths to avoid deaths in the state.
According to the governor, he said ” There are reports that the herders are coming to Ebonyi. We have received many threats that they are coming to atta k us and burn our building to the ground. We also heard that they have been sending different types of text messages but we will surprise them. We must get prepared ahead of any attack. “
” Due to the threat, we have resolved to defending ourselves. We must defend ourselves with weapon and other things we find. We must kill them and not allow them to kill us. We must form a group, any local group and arm ourselves to prevent bad incident in the state. Don’ t look for the police or other security agencies to rescue you, learn to defend yourself and fight them”
