Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he will still travel to New York for the United Nations General Assembly despite the arrest warrant issued against him by the International Criminal Court.

Speaking during remarks about New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Netanyahu criticised the mayor’s position on Israel and Hamas, alleging that he sympathises with the militant group. He said, “He celebrated the October 7th massacre… he’s supporting the Hamas murderers who raped our women.”

Netanyahu further argued that allegations of genocide should be directed at Hamas rather than Israel, claiming Mamdani was “tormenting his own citizens” while reiterating his intention to attend the UN gathering.

Reaffirming his decision to visit New York, Netanyahu declared: “A Jew is stabbed with a cry of Allahu Akbar! You know what that means! It’s shameful…I intend to come and speak the truth, speak for Israel and the Israeli-American alliance from the podium of the United Nations.”
