Nigerian journalist and media executive Tim Elombah has been arrested by officers of the Nigeria Police Force in Anambra State.
Elombah, who is associated with Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) — an online television platform run by Nigerians abroad — was taken from his residence in Awka on Saturday, July 5, according to a statement from the organisation.
He was later transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja by operatives of the Intelligence Unit for interrogation.
The media outlet said his arrest stemmed from a petition reportedly filed by a well-known real estate developer.
As of press time, the authorities had not disclosed the specific contents of the petition.
