The development was confirmed by Nabilusi Abubakar K/Na’isa, who stated that the woman died in the early hours of Thursday, around 2am.
According to him, complications arose shortly after childbirth as the mother reportedly experienced continuous bleeding. Despite efforts by medical personnel to manage the situation, she could not be stabilised.
He explained that the quintuplets, made up of three boys and two girls, were delivered successfully and are currently in stable condition under medical care.
The spokesperson further disclosed that the deceased has since been laid to rest in line with Islamic rites at her residence in Hotoro, Kano.
He also appealed to members of the public to support the newborns with essential supplies, including baby milk and other necessities, as they continue to receive treatment.
Earlier, health authorities had indicated that both the mother and her babies were placed under close observation following the delivery, but the situation later deteriorated, leading to her death.
