Lagos govt dislodges roadside traders along Railway Corridors, shuts down Alamutu market

The Lagos State government has destroyed makeshift structures obstructing traffic movement along railway corridors in Yaba.

Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources in the state disclosed this on Tuesday through his official X handle.

He said the Lagos Waste Management Authority officials and the state’s Environmental Sanitation Corps carried out the exercise.
DAILY POST recalls that on September 4 this year, the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, inaugurated the Blue rail mass transit commercial operations.

In a related development, the Commissioner, Wahab, said the state officials sealed up the Alamutu market at Idioro Mushin over poor sanitary conditions.
“Earlier today (October 3) sealed up Alamutu (Ologede) market at Idi Oro, Mushin due to its poor sanitary conditions and inefficient waste disposal practices ‘, he said.
