Two media and entertainment companies, Buckwyld Media Network and BHM, have partnered to showcase the Niger Delta culture to the world through an exhibition.

The exhibition, with the theme, ‘Naija to the World’, will debut on September 16, 2023, at the prestigious Apollo Theatre in New York City, United States of America.

It will also take place in several Nigerian cities, including Lagos, Port Harcourt (Rivers State), Benin (Edo State), Abuja, and Jos (Plateau State).

In a statement sent to Saturday Beats, the organisers noted that the aim of the exhibition was to provide a platform for different aspects of Nigerian culture.

They added that it will focus on telling cultural stories and providing music and related experiences from the Niger Delta region of the country.

According to them, the region was selected because of its rich cultural history, as well as its struggles to achieve creative and economic success and stability, despite providing a huge part of Nigeria’s GDP.

The founder of BHM, Ayeni Adekunle, said, “Many do not know that a lot of the African pop music dominating the world right now also comes from there (Burna Boy is from Rivers State).

We want to showcase the music, food, fashion, and literature from a place many only previously associated with oil and violence.”

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Buckwyld Media Network, Efe Omorogbe said, “The Niger Delta region remains the premiere incubator for talents who have continually shaped the course of creative enterprise in Nigeria.”
