Chief Mbazulike Amechi, First Republic Minister, who bemoaned the gross marginalisation of the Igbo tribe in Nigeria, Njenje Media News reports.

He was speaking at the ‘Never Again Conference: 51 Years After The Nigerian-Biafran War’ a Virtual event organized by Nzuko Umunna, a pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization and anchored by Ovation International and Njenje Media.

In his words;

”I come from the part of Nigeria that was conquered in the civil war. What I am seeing  today is no longer the country we founded” adding that the Igbo want to be part of Nigeria and should be accommodated instead of being chased away and not allowed to go at the same time.

The former Minister said that since the military came into the scene, the country has not had a people’s constitution, but affirmed that the solution is in returning to fiscal federalism as we had in the First Republic.

The Virtual Zoom Conference had in attendance Prof. Pat Utomi, Music veteran, Onyeka Owenu, Bishop Kukah, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Maazi Nnamdi Kanu, Mrs Ankio Briggs, Senator Shehu Sani amongst others.
