Ondo Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu Sworn-In For Second Term

The Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu has been sworn in for a second term in office today Wednesday January 24, 2021, Njenje Media News reports.

At the inauguration ceremony held at the International Culture and Events Centre, Akure, the state capital, Akeredolu and the state deputy governor, Lucky Ayedatiwa took oath of office.

The state Chief Judge, Justice Olanrewaju Akeredolu performed the swearing-in ceremony.

The event had in attendance, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun; Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki and Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi .

Other notable personalities at the event include Former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani; APC Chieftain Bisi Akande; Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Iyiola Omisore; Senate Majority Leader, Senator Ajayi Boroffice among others.

Njenje Media News recalls that Akeredolu on Saturday, October 10, 2021 re-elected as Governor of Ondo State after defeating the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eyitayo Jegede and his now former deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi and others in the poll, winning 15 of the 18 local governments in the state.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate had 292,830 votes, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate had 195,791 votes, the Zenith Labour Party candidate had 69,127 votes in the election.
