The Zamfara north senatorial district of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has demanded that former chairman, Dr Ahmad Sani Kaura who died recently be replaced by somebody from the zone, Njenje Media News reports.

A group known as “Zamfara Youth Forum” appealed to the leadership of the party to look into the matter and return the chairmanship position of the party to the zone, considering that Nigeria is in a democratic era.

The youth forum explained that its attention was drawn to the rumours of plans to give the position to another senatorial district.

The leader of the forum, Abba Muhammad Gusau made the demands in an interview with newsmen in Gusau, the state capital, urging the party to look into the matter and be democratic.

“Alhaji Kabiru Sahabin Liman is a native of Kaura na Namoda Local Government Area and a card-carrying member of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the state.

“We wish the national working committee and state headquarters of our great party would take Kabir Sahabin Liman Kaura as the new party chairman.

Gusau said considering his political career as a member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly for two tenures and being a great politician since the Second Republic, he has the experience to lead the party.
