It was a day filled with warmth, respect, and genuine cultural connection as His Regency, Chief (Dr.) Nwachukwu Anakwenze, Onowu and Regent of Abagana, and Global Chairman of the Igbo World Assembly (IWA), arrived at the royal palace of His Royal Majesty, Dr. Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa, the ATA‑IGALA (GABAIDU) and President of the Kogi State Traditional Council of Chiefs.
The ancient palace of Idah came alive as the Igala royal drums echoed across the courtyard, signalling the arrival of a respected brother from the East. Chief Dr. Anakwenze spoke passionately about the long history shared by Ndigbo and the Igala nation, reminding everyone present of the enduring bond that has connected both peoples for generations.
The Ata‑Igala welcomed the Regent with sincerity and warmth, reflecting the deep cultural ties that continue to unite the two groups. Their meeting went beyond protocol; it reaffirmed a relationship rooted in migration stories, intertwined bloodlines, and centuries of peaceful coexistence.

Accompanying Dr. Anakwenze on this significant visit were Prof. Chris Agbedo, Chief Sir Clement Ofoedu, Rabbi, and other distinguished personalities , each adding honour and presence to the delegation.
Together, the royal fathers and their entourage celebrated the enduring truth that Igala and Ndigbo share more than borders . They share heritage, respect, and the unbroken rhythm of age‑old traditions.
