Village Boys Movement Intensifies Demand for ADC to Grant Peter Obi Presidential Ticket in Nationwide March, Registers Members In ADC

The Village Boys Movement (VBM) has intensified its demand for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to grant its presidential ticket to Peter Obi, as supporters staged a nationwide “2 Million Man March and ADC Registration Drive” on Saturday.

The coordinated mobilisation, which took place across Abia, Adamawa, Anambra, Ebonyi, Plateau, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Kogi, and Edo states, was framed by the movement as a direct and unequivocal call on the ADC leadership to immediately concede its presidential ticket to Obi, in line with what it described as the clear will of the people.

The Village Headmaster of the movement, Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke, stated that the march was fundamentally driven by the singular objective of compelling the ADC to act decisively on Obi’s candidacy, stressing that the nationwide turnout underscored a growing consensus around his leadership.

He noted that beyond demonstrating support, the exercise also served as a strategic vehicle for mass registration of Nigerians into the ADC, aimed at reinforcing the party’s structure ahead of 2027 while simultaneously strengthening the case for Obi’s emergence as its presidential flag bearer.

The movement explained that the phased rollout of the mobilisation was deliberately designed to sustain pressure on the ADC, maintain nationwide momentum, and ensure that the demand for Obi’s ticket remains consistent and unavoidable in the political discourse.

According to VBM, the initiative represents a calculated effort to transform widespread public support into a structured political force capable of influencing party-level decisions, particularly the allocation of the presidential ticket.

The group maintained that the urgency of Nigeria’s current political and economic realities necessitates the emergence of credible leadership, insisting that granting Obi the ADC ticket would reflect responsiveness to the aspirations of Nigerians.

VBM further referenced evolving positions among key political stakeholders, including the Peoples Democratic Party, All Progressives Congress, Labour Party, and the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum, noting that calls for a Southern presidency continue to gain traction across the country.

Reiterating its central message, the movement stressed that the ADC must align with this momentum by granting its presidential ticket to Obi without delay, warning that anything short of this would run contrary to the prevailing democratic sentiment.

The group affirmed its commitment to sustaining nationwide mobilisation across villages, towns, and cities, with the clear objective of ensuring that Obi secures the ADC ticket and leads what it described as a decisive political shift in 2027.

VBM added that the march signals the beginning of a coordinated national movement focused not just on advocacy, but on securing concrete political outcomes.
