Kaduna State – In a decisive counter-terrorism operation, troops of the Nigerian Army successfully thwarted a potentially devastating terrorist attack, neutralizing two terrorists and capturing their weapons. The incident occurred in the Kurmin Aja area of Kagarko Local Government Area, known for frequent terrorist activities.
“Acting on credible intelligence, the troops intercepted four armed terrorists on motorbikes at a known crossing point,” a military spokesperson said. “Displaying exceptional bravery, the soldiers set up an ambush and engaged the terrorists in an intense firefight. Two of the terrorists were neutralized, while the remaining two escaped with gunshot wounds into a nearby forest. This swift action prevented potential loss of innocent lives and averted further attacks in the region.”
The spokesperson added, “A thorough search of the area following the operation led to the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, 30 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, three magazines, and two motorbikes used by the terrorists.”
The Nigerian Army urges all law-abiding citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to security agencies. “The cooperation between the public and security forces is vital in the ongoing fight against terrorism and other criminal activities,” the spokesperson emphasized. “Together, these efforts will help protect communities and ensure peace and stability in the region.”
