U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran offered the United States a “very big present” tied to oil and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, raising fresh speculation about possible behind-the-scenes diplomacy.

Speaking to reporters, Trump declined to reveal details of the development but described it as highly valuable and unrelated to nuclear issues. He suggested the move signals that Washington is engaging with the “right people” in Tehran and hinted at the possibility of a broader agreement.

Although no official clarification has been provided, analysts believe the remark may point to steps by Iran to ease tensions around oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global energy supply.

The waterway handles a significant share of the world’s oil trade, and any reduction in disruptions could have major economic implications. Iranian authorities, however, have not publicly confirmed any such concession.
