The University of Jos has postponed all examinations scheduled for Monday, March 30, and Tuesday, March 31, 2026, following a deadly attack by unidentified gunmen in Angwan Rukuba, a community housing many of its staff and students.

The decision, approved by the Vice Chancellor, comes amid heightened tension in and around the affected area. University authorities said the postponed examinations would be rescheduled at a later date.

In a security advisory issued by the institution, members of the university community were urged to remain vigilant and exercise caution in their movements both on and off campus. They were specifically warned against going out very early in the morning and advised to promptly report any suspicious activity or threats to public peace to the university’s security division.

Management also disclosed that it is working closely with relevant security agencies to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of students and staff.

The university assured that further updates would be communicated as the situation develops.
