Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Daura, Sandamu and Mai’adua Federal Constituency in Katsina State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He made the declaration on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda at the Government House in Katsina. The visit featured a delegation comprising political leaders, traditional rulers, community representatives and stakeholders from across the constituency.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the District Head of Dumurkul, Musa Haro, described Buhari as a committed and patriotic young leader, noting that his aspiration reflects the desire of the people for effective representation and inclusive development. He also commended Governor Radda’s leadership and said the visit was to formally present the aspirant and seek his support.
Also speaking, the lawmaker representing Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency, Abdullahi Aliyu, expressed confidence in Buhari’s capacity to deliver responsive representation. He urged party members to remain united and support credible candidates within the APC.
The Director General of the National Agricultural Seeds Council, Fatihu Muhammad, highlighted Buhari’s leadership exposure and readiness for public service, stating that his ambition is driven by a vision to promote youth empowerment and grassroots development.
Community representatives from the constituency also voiced their support, describing Buhari as a unifying figure and pledging their backing for his candidacy.
In her remarks, the Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, commended the aspirant for stepping forward, stressing the importance of youth participation in governance and inclusive leadership.
Responding, Governor Radda welcomed the delegation and praised Buhari’s interest in public service, reiterating his administration’s commitment to fairness, unity and internal democracy within the APC. He advised the aspirant to remain focused, consult widely and uphold integrity throughout the political process.
The visit is part of ongoing consultations within the APC as political activities gradually build up ahead of the 2027 general elections in Katsina State.
