The homicide trial of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, known as Shiites’, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and his wife, Zeenat has resumed at the Kaduna State High Court, Njenje Media News reports.
Mr Femi Falana, the Lead counsel to the Shi’ite sect, and other legal luminaries are expected in court with the defense team.
Njenje Media News recalls that the presiding judge, Gideon Kurada at the last sitting of the court adjourned the case to 8th and 9th of March 2023 after the prosecution counsel, Chris Umar presented two more witnesses before the court with only one of them testifing at the last sitting while the other is expected to testify at today’s sitting.
Several roads in the state capital has been blocked, with residents being advised to use routes not close to the state high court.
Security operatives are stationed at at high alert to forestall breakdown of law and order.
