BreakingNews: British Foreign Office Warns Citizens Against Traveling To Nigeria

The British Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has advised British people against any travel to Nigeria, Njenje Media News reports.

The FCDO in a statement today, stated that “all but essential travels to Nigeria, based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks are advised against. From 0400 on Monday 6 December, Nigeria has been added to the red list for entering England”.

The state in Nigeria highly affected are listed below:

  • Borno State
  • Yobe State
  • Adamawa State
  • Gombe State
  • Kaduna State
  • Katsina State
  • Zamfara state
  • riverine areas of Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River States.

The FCDO advises against all but essential travel to the following states:

  • Bauchi State
  • Kano State
  • Jigawa State
  • Niger State
  • Sokoto State
  • Kogi State
  • within 20km of the border with Niger in Kebbi State
  • Abia State
  • non-riverine areas of Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers States

The FCDO advises against all but essential travel to the whole of Nigeria based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks.

Njenje Media News recalls that, Nigeria was added to the travel red list to commenced 4am Monday 6 December following 21 cases of Omicron reported in England which are linked to travel from Nigeria.
