COVID-19 ; Federal Government Says Nigeria Is Running Out Of Treatment Facilities

The Nigerian Government says the country has reached a critical level where the hospital capacity will no longer be able to cope with more serious COVID-19 cases, Njenje Media News reports.

Dr Chikwe Iheweazu,The Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, in a statement on Monday, July 11, said this comes as the country records over 100,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 1,300 deaths.

Ihekweazu, who was speaking at the PTF briefing in Abuja, said health workers may be forced to make tough decisions, he urged citizens to take precautions in containing the virus.

In his words;

“We need to protect our more vulnerable citizens. We all have to take responsibility, this is not for NCDC, PTF or government alone,” he said.

Njenje Media News reports that there has been a recent rise in COVID-19 cases in the county.
