A humanoid robot has gone viral on social media after it reportedly malfunctioned and behaved erratically during an incident said to have occurred in an office in Indonesia.
CCTV footage circulating online shows the robot suddenly swinging its arms uncontrollably, moving toward nearby workers and appearing to strike martial arts style poses, prompting employees to flee while others stepped in to restrain the machine.
The cause of the incident has not been officially confirmed. However, experts say such behaviour is typically linked to software glitches, hardware malfunctions or testing errors, rather than any form of autonomous decision making.
The video has sparked renewed discussion about the safety of humanoid robots operating in environments where they interact closely with people.
The incident follows several similar viral videos in recent months showing humanoid robots behaving unexpectedly during demonstrations and public exhibitions, raising concerns about the need for stronger safety measures as the technology continues to develop.

While many social media users reacted with humour to the robot’s actions, others said the footage highlights the importance of rigorous testing and safeguards before advanced robots are deployed more widely.
