Popular Nigerian preacher and founder of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, has stirred social media and religious circles after revealing details about his luxury watch collection. In a viral video, the pastor explained that he does not personally buy the expensive watches he is often seen wearing, noting that many are gifts from admirers of his work.
He disclosed that one of his watches is valued at $2 million (over ₦3 billion) and claimed that he has not even worn half of the timepieces in his collection. “I don’t buy the watches I wear. Someone gave me a two million dollar watch. I haven’t even worn half of my watches. The ones you see on social media are just a small part of my collection,” he said.
Pastor Ibiyeomie added that if people were to see the full extent of his collection, many would be shocked. “If they saw all of them, they would faint,” he stated, stressing that what is visible online represents only a fraction of his wealth.
Responding to critics who question how pastors acquire such luxury items, he attributed his blessings to problem-solving and creating value rather than personal greed or church funds. “I’m getting watches because I’m solving problems,” he explained.
The revelation has triggered mixed reactions, with supporters praising him for enjoying the rewards of his work, while critics argue that flaunting such wealth conflicts with the humility expected of religious leaders. Regardless of opinion, Pastor Ibiyeomie has once again sparked nationwide conversation in Nigeria about faith, prosperity, and the display of wealth by religious figures.
