Former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has advised his former running mate, Peter Obi, to return to the Labour Party if he fails to secure the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress.
He made the remark during an interview on Trust TV while discussing the 2027 general elections and Obi’s potential bid under the ADC.
Datti Baba-Ahmed expressed admiration for Obi, stating that he would support his return to the Labour Party and work toward helping him clinch its presidential ticket if the ADC route does not materialize.
He also pledged to help reconcile any differences Obi may have with party members.
Datti Baba-Ahmed previously ran alongside Obi as his vice-presidential candidate under the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections.
