Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has announced Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo as the Kano governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was made in a statement shared on Kwankwaso’s official page, which also revealed that Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has been nominated to contest the Kano Central Senatorial seat under the same platform.
The statement explained that the choices were guided by principles of equity, fairness, loyalty, and competence, which the party says remain key to its unity and political direction within the Kwankwasiyya movement. It further noted Kwankwaso’s prayers for a peaceful and successful affirmation process, alongside confidence in the party’s prospects in the forthcoming elections.
