Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has declared that his performance during his current term will be his testament in the 2027 elections. Addressing attendees at the monthly women empowerment programme held at Coronation Hall, Governor Yusuf underscored that his focus is not on securing re-election but on fulfilling his governance mandate.
“Re-election is not my concern. My priority is to deliver on the democratic dividends to the people of Kano based on the mandate they entrusted to me during this first term. I want to be judged on my accomplishments when this tenure concludes,” Yusuf stated.
He also criticized what he described as “enemies of Kano State” within the opposition, accusing them of attempting to sow political discord. “These individuals, rejected by the electorate in both 2019 and 2023, have continued their efforts to destabilize our state. We won against them when we had no political officeholders, not even a councillor, thanks to the grace of Allah,” he remarked.
Governor Yusuf further warned the leadership of the APC in Kano State against making inflammatory remarks or hate speech that might intimidate potential voters.
“My destiny as governor is in the hands of Allah. If it is His will for me to serve another term, so be it; if not, so be it. Why then should I be troubled?” he questioned, reflecting his faith in divine ordination over political machinations.
