The Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) has appealed to Nigerians for calm following the outcome of the nationwide protest which resulted into pockets of violence in some parts of the country.
National President of the association, Aminu Maifata, made the appeal while addressing journalists in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State.
The association wants Nigerians to shelve the protest and give room for dialogue.
The ALGON president said he believes President Bola Tinubu is committed to providing solutions to the yearnings of Nigerians as demonstrated through the granting of Local Government Autonomy.
