Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have recorded multiple arrests and drug seizures across several states as part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking.

In Niger State, officers intercepted a commercial bus along the Mokwa Jebba road carrying 500 improvised explosive device components concealed in a sack. A follow up operation led to the arrest of a 21 year old suspect, Osama Abdullahi, in Pelegi, Mashegu Local Government Area.

In Adamawa State, officers recovered 122,000 pills of tramadol and 700 grams of methamphetamine concealed in a truck transporting cartons of local drinks in Yola.

Other operations led to the arrest of suspects and seizures in Kano, Ogun and Delta states, while large quantities of cannabis farms were destroyed in Edo State.

Chairman of the agency, Mohamed Buba Marwa, commended officers involved in the operations and urged them to sustain the balanced approach of enforcement and public sensitisation in the ongoing campaign against drug abuse in Nigeria.
