Margao Police have arrested a Nigerian national, Igwe Chinudde, from Morjim in connection with a narcotics case involving the seizure of 5kg of ganja in Navelim.
His arrest comes two days after the detention of Mohammad Azharuddin Nur Mohammad, who was taken into custody following the recovery of the suspected cannabis during the investigation.
Police said Chinudde was arrested as part of the same case as investigators continue to examine his alleged involvement in the suspected drug network. Authorities described the arrest as a major breakthrough in the ongoing probe into the supply and distribution of the seized narcotics.
According to police, investigations are continuing to identify other individuals who may have links to the alleged drug trafficking operation.
