The President of the Arewa Youths has said former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi will not secure victory in any northern state in Nigeria’s 2027 presidential election.
Speaking during an interview on News Century Television, the youth leader said Obi should not expect electoral support from the North, maintaining that the region would not back his presidential ambition.
The comments come as political parties and interest groups continue early consultations and positioning ahead of the 2027 general election.
The remarks reflect the views of the Arewa youth leader and not those of the wider northern electorate. There is currently no official election data or independent polling to support the assertion that Obi would fail to win any northern state in the 2027 vote.
