NIGERIA’S FIVE-PLUS-ONE LEPROUS-FINGER CHURCH LEADERS DENYING CHRISTIAN GENOCIDE—Bishop Matthew Kukah, Pastor Bosun Emmanuel, Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi, Bishop Wale Oke, Bishop Stephen Adegbite and Rev James Pam
Nwankwo T. Nwaezeigwe, PhD, DD January 19, 2026
Among my Ibusa (Igbuzo) people, it is commonly said, to put it in my native parlance, “Afu ekwu na-egbu okenye; ekwu anu na-egbu nwata” (Seeing something and not speaking out kills an elder; while refusal to listen kills the young).
As an elder in my own right as the Odogwu of Ibusa and a well-conscious research historian, civil rights activist and President, International Coalition against Christian Genocide in Nigeria, I will continue to speak out against the evils of Christian Genocide in Nigeria, vicious persecution of Christians and, the brazen marginalization of Christians in Nigeria’s political leadership no matter whose ox is gored. Most importantly, it is my professional responsibility as a historian to put down the records of important activities of men as they affect their societies for the judgment of posterity.
It is an incontrovertible fact that since the emergence of Islam as a world religion with the fundamental objective to destroy Christianity and Christians, much of its successes in its mission had largely depended on the vile collaboration and outright sabotage by the same Christians against their religion and their fellow Christians. Without the shameless and criminal collaboration of Christians and other non-Muslim local entities, Islam would not have had its way in modern world as a domineering violence-prone religion.
Without the shameless and criminal collaboration of Nigerian Christians with Muslims in the matter of contest for political power against the collective interest of Christianity as a religion, Muslims should not have had the impudence to dominate Christians in Nigeria today, much more extending to the vicious crime of Genocide.
To the Muslim, what he needs is political power which will enable him to control and dominate the Christians politically, economically, religiously, socially, intellectually and militarily, with the cumulative objective of Islamizing the entire polity. This is exactly what is happening in Nigeria today. The Nigerian Muslim since the time of Shehu Usman dan Fodio has remained ever smarter in political manipulation than his Nigeria Christian counterpart through his skillful application of the Muslim doctrine of deceit and lying known as Taqqiyya.
The basic theological foundation of this doctrine of deceit and lying is anchored on Quran Sura (Chapter) 3 verse 28, which pungently states:
“Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the [final] destination.”
Can we ask ourselves what is happening today to the Nigerian Christian in respect of the above verse of the Quran against the background the Federal Government’s denial of Christian Genocide in Nigeria?
The number one Taqqiyya is the assumption of the fact that President Tinubu’s wife being a Christian in quotes is enough justification for Nigerian Christians to accept the insulting imposition of a Muslim President and a Muslim Vice President. We are being informed that the Aso Villa Chapel built for either a Christian President or a Christian Vice President is now meant for the wife of the President. Meanwhile the same Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu whenever she is meeting Muslims dresses like a Muslim.
The second Taqqiyya is the despicable use of Yoruba ethnic solidarity to cower reputable Yoruba Christians into accepting the condemnable assertion that there is no Christian Genocide in Nigeria. We noticed a situation where well-known prominent Yoruba Church leaders chose to keep tightlipped on the issue of Christian Genocide, while others boldly but shamelessly became propaganda agents for Muslims in their denial of Christian Genocide in Nigeria. The question before us under the present circumstance of President Trump’s intervention to stop Christian Genocide in Nigeria is, where are:
Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG);
Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedep, Founder and Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners’ Chapel);
Pastor Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, Founder and General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM);
Pasor William Folorunso Kumuyi, Founder and General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (Deeper Life Bible Church);
Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), London;
Bishop Francis Wale Oke, Founder of Sword of the Spirit Ministries and the current President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN);
Pastor Tunde Bakare, Serving Overseer of The Citadel Global Community Church (formerly The Latter Rain Assembly);
Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Founder and Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church; and
Pastor Godman Akinlabi, Founder and Senior Pastor of The Elevation Church in Lagos?
Are these prominent Yoruba Christian leaders telling the world that what happened in Saint Xavier Catholic Church, Owo, did not constitute a perfect example of Christian Genocide? Are they also telling the world that because President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is their fellow Yoruba ethnic kinsman, his collaboration with those slaughtering Christians in our nation does not matter to them? Are they equally telling us that because President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a Muslim, is their ethnic kinsman, having another Muslim as his Vice President does not matter to them as Christian leaders?
It is a shameful act of betrayal of their divine ordination as Church leaders for these Yoruba Christian leaders because of despicable ethnic considerations, to pretend that these irrefutable facts of Taqqiyya do not matter to them as men of God, as much as they do not matter to the average Nigerian Christian. To the Nigerian Christian however, what matters to him is his immediate stomach-infrastructure and not the danger of being exterminated by Muslims through jihad-driven Genocide. He does not consider the danger of what becomes of the future of his Christian religion and his people under the present unfolding precipitous circumstances in Nigeria.
It does not matter to him that thousands of members of his Christian religion are being slaughtered today by Muslims as part of Usman dan Fodio’s jihad project that began in 1804, now taking place with the full connivance of the Muslim President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Muslim Vice President Kashim Shettima, without any record of the culprits being brought to justice.
What matters to the Nigerian Christian is to collect money from the ruling Muslim jihadists and protect the Muslim destruction of their own people and their own Christian religion. Like Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah who, acting in the likeness of the vicious Judas Iscariot, has the audacity of an ordained Priest of the Christian religion, to repeatedly defend the Muslim killers of the same people he is ordained to lead and protect, by continuously denying Christian Genocide in Nigeria.
The reason, like the case of the 30 silver coins paid to Apostle Judas Iscariot to betray his master and Lord Jesus Christ, being Bishop Kukah’s appointment as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, Kaduna State by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in March 2025; including his monthly Good-Faith allowance from the Jihad Trust Fund of Sokoto Caliphate.
What Bishop Matthew Kukah and those Christian leaders denying Christian Genocide and supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a Muslim, with his Vice President a Muslim today are doing, is what happens to any Church leader when he acts against God’s commandment in Exodus 23:8, “Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds those who see and twists the words of the innocent.” There is therefore no denying the fact that any Christian who denies Christian Genocide today is blinded by bribe and twisting the words of the innocent.
It does not matter to the Nigerian Christian neither does he consider it as an inconceivable insult that in a nation where his people constitute the majority population in Southern and Middle Belt Regions of Nigeria he is not qualified enough to be considered for the position of Vice President under a Muslim President, an act which clearly shows that he has lost his identity as a Nigerian citizen on equal political footings with his counterpart Muslim citizen of Nigeria.
To Islam the fundamental basis of political unity is anchored on their Umma which is ethnically blind. While the Nigerian Christian is obfuscated with chronic ethnic bigotry against his fellow Christian of different ethnic group, his Muslim ethnic counterpart is busy in the Mosque conniving with his fellow Muslim of another ethnic group on how to manipulate the Christians to their religious and political advantages.
The Spanish philosopher George Santayana told us that, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
This is the statement I want Nigerian Christians who are currently suffering the heinous crime of Genocide, impudent persecution and treacherous marginalization by Muslims under their current Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to remind the following Five-plus-one Leprous-Finger Nigerian Christian leaders who present themselves to the Body of Christ in Nigeria as the finest men of God and defenders of the oppressed Christians in Nigeria:
1. BISHOP MATTHEW HASSAN KUKAH, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Caliphate and Special Adviser to the Sultan of Sokoto on Christian Affairs; a man who comes from one of the Middle Belt communities most affected by this atrocious crime of Christian Genocide—Atyep (Kataf) in Southern Kaduna, believes that because he wears the cassock of a Bishop he can lie with alacrity against defenceless Nigerian Christians before man and Almighty God, that there is no Genocide against Christians in Nigeria.
2. PASTOR BOSUN EMMANUEL, currently parades himself as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Christian Social Movement of Nigeria (CSMN); an organization sacrificially founded by the most respected legal luminary and defender of the Christian faith par excellence Elder Solomon Asemota, SAN, for the purpose of defending Christians against callous persecution by Muslims. Pastor Bosun Emmanuel is not satisfied with his fraudulent demand to unsuspecting Nigerian Christians to contribute five hundred naira each monthly into the coffers of his now fraudulent Christian Social Movement of Nigeria (CSMN) for the purpose of organizing a fraudulent Constitutional Conference on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but is currently engaged in the evil contract of mobilizing Yoruba Christians to withdraw from the campaign against Christian Genocide in Nigeria, through the same Federal Government-sponsored limbless vile Constitutional Conference; which main objective is to distract Christians from the most vexatious issue of Christian Genocide. Pastor Bosun Emmanuel should explain to those Nigerian Christians contributing five hundred naira monthly to his fraudulent Christian Social Movement of Nigeria if fake constitutional conference is the purpose of such contributions, outside the battle against Christian Genocide and persecution.
3. DR. BOLAJI AKINYEMI presents himself as the President of Apostle Round-Table Nigeria and currently serves as the Chief Decoy Propagandist for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against all the Christian groups and individuals fighting against Christian Genocide and persecution in Nigeria. Ordinarily, Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi should be one of the few Yoruba Christians I would not wish to criticize in the public space for any reason, because of the roles they have played in my life in the course of my present struggles against Christian Genocide in Nigeria. The other two are Pastor Bayo Adewuye from Ondo State and Bishop (Prof) Mercy Fumilayo Adesanya-Davis from Kwara State.
At one point I had difficulties raising a voice against Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi, but the Holy Spirit warned me that not doing so would amount to condemning our Lord Jesus Christ for exposing Judas Iscariot. So I immediately transferred the image of Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi to the seat similar to the one Apostle Judas Iscariot sat when he betrayed our Lord Jesus Christ. Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi kind heartedly connected with me while I was in Kigali, Rwanda in 2022, before moving to Uganda and then to Republic of the Philippines. It is a fact that Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi asked me what I would want him to do for me, and I told him to help me publish my completed book manuscript on Yoruba-Fulani Conflicts; which he readily did, and for which I remain ever grateful to him.
But was that enough reason why he should command me at this stage of my struggles to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and, when I refused he began to blackmail me as a bad leader and an ungrateful fellow? People reading Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi’s current essays on social media will notice that he now writes mainly on social studies rather than on the subjects of Christian Genocide and persecution that originally brought us together? Thanks to the mouth-watering abominable propaganda contract from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
As the Deputy President of International Coalition against Christian Genocide in Nigeria (ICAC-GEN), Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi refused to append his signature to any petition or press lease on behalf of the organization and, when I protested, he said I should remove his name from our website, which I diligently did. I delivered a public zoom lecture on Christian Genocide in Nigeria in October 2025 and, because he considered the lecture critical of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he refused to release the lecture to me and the public till date; claiming that it was attacked by virus. What kind of virus attacks video recording of a zoom lecture which automatically starts to configure and download once the zoom ends? The Coalition of Christian groups against Christian Genocide in Nigeria organized a Press Conference and Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi, Da Jonathan Akuns and I, were engaged to respond to questions from the audience. Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi absconded from the responsibility without any responsible explanation till today.
On the other hand, Pastor Bayo Adewuye and Bishop (Prof) Mercy Funmilayo Adesanya-Davis have followed my present travails in the struggles against Christian Genocide in Nigeria, right from the point I fled my office at University of Nigeria Nsukka in 2017, through my exile in Republic of Cameroon and, Central African Republic, from where I was deported back to Republic of Cameroon; then to Niger Republic through Boko Haram infested area of Northern Nigeria; from Niger Republic to Burkina Faso; then to Ghana through Bitou and Bawku and then Accra where I slept under Kwame Nkrumah fly-over for over six months, precisely from October 2018 to March 2019. From there I fled by air to Republic of Sierra Leone through the financial support of Prof Philip Gbonsong of University of Cape Coast, Ghana, who was introduced to me by Bishop (Prof) Mercy Funmi Adesanya-Davis, with additional support from Pastor Bayo Adewuye.
In Sierra Leone, I stayed under the care of a Sierra Leonean woman named Mrs. Fatmata Kagbo for two months at Waterloo town of Freetown and, later fled to Sanctuary Praise Church owned by Evangelist Victor Ajisafe, a Yoruba man, where I stayed one month, before fleeing to Dakar Senegal by land route through Republic of Guinea-Conakry.
I stayed three months in Senegal before fleeing to Republic of Cape Verde, where I was arrested at the Airport, detained for two days and deported back to Dakar Senegal. Leaving Senegal the next day, I fled to Bamako Mali, from where I traveled to Burkina Faso, passing through the Fulani stronghold town of Djibo the Capital of Soum Province, to Niger Republic. From Niger I entered Benin Republic and then Republic of Togo, where I stayed two years.
From Togo, I fled to Republic of Rwanda where I stayed under constant threat to my life for a year and four months, before I was ordered by the Government to leave the country within thirty days. Leaving Rwanda I fled to Uganda where I stayed two months before fleeing to Republic of the Philippines. In fact, when I found myself stranded in Rwanda few days after my arrival on 12 July 2021, it was to Redeemed Christian Church of Church of God in Kigali that I ran to for help, where the Senior Pastor through the Assistant Pastor, both Yoruba, gave me money for two-week accommodation before I was able to gather myself together.
In all these journeys of survival both Pastor Bayo Adewuye and Bishop (Prof) Mercy Funmi Adesanya-Davis remained strongly and fully committed to my survival through their prayers and material supports where possible till this moment of my writing. In fact, Bishop (Prof) Mercy Funmi Adesanya-Davis wrote two separate letters of concern on my behalf to Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) seeking their intervention in my case without any positive response.
For a compendium of the above monstrous experiences of my life, wait for the soon to be published book: “AGAINST CHRISTIAN GENOCIDE IN NIGERIA FROM MUHAMMADU BUHARI TO DONALD TRUMP BOMBING— Chronicles of a Nigerian Asylum-Seeker Wandering through fourteen African Countries to Philippines.”
These two noble scions of Oduduwa know that they cannot compel me under any circumstance to abandon the battle against Christian Genocide and persecution which brought us together and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. But Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi thinks he has the capacity to do such. As I have always said, God did not spare my life till this day to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the unresolved heinous state of Christian Genocide and brazen persecution of Christians, with a Muslim President and a Muslim Vice President.
4. Bishop Wale Oke who sits on the throne of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) as its President, is currently President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Director of Campaign to Nigerian Churches for his 2027 Presidential election. He is billed to commence his campaigns this January 2026 by visiting Church leaders across the country to convince them into dropping the issue of Christian Genocide and forget the matter of a Muslim President and a Muslim Vice President. So Nigerian Christian leaders should be aware of this messenger of Satan in the clothing of a Bishop seeking who to devour.
5. Bishop Stephen Adegbite is a shameless Bishop of the Methodist Church of Nigeria who forgot that it was the same perpetrators of the very Christian Genocide he is shamelessly denying that kidnapped the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Most Rev Dr. Samuel C. Kanu Uche, the Bishop of Owerri Methodist Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dennis Mark and, the Prelate’s Chaplain, Very Rev. Jeremiah Shittu, on Sunday 29 May, 2022.
He operates the dual Amalekite roles of Chairman of Lagos State Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Executive Secretary of Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC); in addition to playing the role of Chief Lobbyist of the Federal Government to the Government of Israel. He was in the State of Israel this January 2026 for a failed lobbying mission to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to dissuade him from joining President Donald Trump to intervene in Nigeria against Christian Genocide and persecution of Christians by Muslims.
6. Reverend James Pam is a Berom ethnic Christian clergyman from Plateau State who presents himself as the President of Plateau State Indigenous Independent Ministers’ Association and currently serves as the Middle Belt Coordinator of Middle Belt Christians for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign under Bishop Wale Okey. Meanwhile he claims to be an anti-Christian Genocide Campaigner. Working in concert with both Pastor Bosun Emmanuel and Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi, he equally doubles as a double-agent against his fellow Middle Belt Christians in support of those who blatantly deny Christian Genocide in Nigeria. He is like a small fire which is often disregarded, but once placed in contact with any combustible material turns into an inferno.
These people, short of simply being described as Apostle Judas Iscariot in their own respective rights, are better placed on the same despicable spiritual pedestal as the notorious Haman of the Bible who bribed King Ahasuerus to kill all the Jews in his Empire. These people have one common objective—to destroy Christians and Christianity in Nigeria through their abominable collaboration with Muslims in their jihad bid to turn the entire nation of Nigeria into a monolithic Islamic nation.
Dr. Nwankwo T. Nwaezeigwe is the Odogwu of Ibusa and President, International Coalition against Christian Genocide in Nigeria (ICAC-GEN). He lives in exile in Republic of the Philippines
