Oyo Police CP says no policeman was shot in Ibadan robbery

 

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko has denied the report that two police officers were shot dead by armed robbers who attacked a bullion van at Idiape area of Ibadan.

She also confirmed that one of the policemen shot dead one of the armed robbers who was carried away during a gun duel.

The Commissioner of Police confirmed this while speaking with newsmen at the scene of the incident.

She said the two police officers who were shot had been taken to the hospital after sustaining injuries on their legs.

She said investigations are still on and assured that the perpetrators of such action would be brought to book.
