Abuja, Nigeria —
The Nkata Ndi Inyom Igbo Foundation, a socio-cultural organization of distinguished Igbo women, convened its 2024 Annual Conference at Sandralia Hotel, Jabi, Abuja, with the theme: “Driving Transformation Through Value Reorientation, Inclusive Leadership & Sustainability.”
The event brought together prominent Nigerians, including political leaders, traditional rulers, and development advocates, to deliberate on pressing national issues. The conference sought to redefine leadership, emphasize the role of women, and promote actionable solutions to enhance Nigeria’s socio-political and economic landscape.
Key Resolutions
1.Leadership and Inclusion:
The Foundation emphasized the need for shared leadership that amplifies every voice. Women, as critical stakeholders, must be empowered to lead national transformation. Their contributions to family, community, and national development remain invaluable.
2.Value Reorientation for Transformation:
Participants identified key Igbo values essential for sustainable progress:
•Industry and Hard Work: A legacy of excellence and innovation.
•Community and Family Bonds: Strengthening communal support and accountability.
•Respect: Upholding humility and unity in leadership.
•Education and Knowledge: Reinstating education and skills acquisition as pillars of societal advancement.
The communiqué stressed the need for a return to traditional values to realign with principles that once defined Igbo pride and success.
3.Empowering the Girl-Child:
Education for girls was described as a “silver bullet” to tackle societal challenges. Women’s enterprise, deeply rooted in Igbo culture, must be harnessed for national development.
4.Unity and National Identity:
The conference highlighted the need for Nigerians to transcend ethnic divisions, promoting equity, justice, and inclusivity as pathways to shared prosperity.
5.Sustainable Development Through Collaboration:
Effective partnerships across regions and communities were identified as critical to driving meaningful change. Transformation must extend beyond politics to address deeper societal challenges.

The Foundation called on Nigerians to:
•Embrace equity, justice, and inclusivity in leadership and governance.
