Clashes erupted in central London as opposing groups confronted each other during a memorial held by pro-Iran demonstrators for slain Iranian leader Ali Khamenei.

The gathering took place on Saturday at the Islamic Centre of England in Maida Vale, where a strong security presence was deployed to manage rising tensions. Officers from the Metropolitan Police and the City of London Police intervened to calm confrontations, urging disruptive participants to disperse while also directing traffic.

Authorities confirmed that 25 individuals were arrested in connection with protests across London, including 18 linked to demonstrations supporting pro-Palestinian causes, according to Sky News.

Police officers were also seen recording the scene from a nearby residential building overlooking the venue.

Outside the centre, demonstrators displayed images of Khamenei and waved Iranian flags. Several participants wore keffiyehs and carried Palestinian flags, alongside placards bearing messages such as calls to boycott Israel, end attacks on Iran, and support for Palestinian freedom.
