Russia and Vietnam have signed a government-to-government agreement to collaborate on building the country’s first nuclear power plant.
The deal was finalized in Moscow following discussions between Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. It was formally endorsed by Rosatom chief Alexey Likhachev and Tran Van Son, who heads Vietnam’s Government Office.
Mishustin noted that the project is expected to strengthen cooperation in advanced technology, as well as both fundamental and applied research. He also highlighted new oil and gas agreements between companies from both nations, aimed at developing energy fields in Russia and Vietnam.
