The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Senator Azuta Mbata was the Special Guest of Honour at the 2025 End-of-Year Dinner and Recognition Awards of Otu Oka Iwu, the foremost association of Igbo lawyers, held on Sunday, 7th December 2025 at the PAS World Center Lekki, Lagos.
In his address, Senator Mbata commended the organizers for their consistent efforts in fostering unity among Igbo legal professionals and for their unwavering commitment to the progress of the Nigerian society. He underscored the importance of Igbo solidarity across the globe and urged Ndigbo to join hands in the collective task of developing Ala Igbo. He further emphasized the need for every Igbo person to take pride in their rich identity and heritage.
Welcoming the President General, the President of Otu Oka Iwu, Mazi Okechukwu Unegbu, expressed deep appreciation for his remarkable presence. He reminded the gathering that, beyond their roles as custodians of justice, members of Otu Oka Iwu also serve as proud ambassadors of the Igbo nation.
The event drew an impressive assembly of distinguished Igbo personalities, including the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, who was represented by the State Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu; the Asagba of Asaba, HRM Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN OON, served as Royal Father of the Day and Mr. Leo Stan Ekeh of Zinox Computers delivered the keynote address. Also in attendance were Chief Emeka Ngige, SAN Chief Host; Mr. Ikechukwu U. Wanna, SAN; Afam Osigwe, National President of the NBA; alongside many other eminent Igbo sons and daughters.
It was a memorable evening that celebrated excellence and honoured distinguished personalities for their contributions to society.
