A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi has described the call for the constitution of Interim National Government by Chief Afe Babalola as invitation to anarchy, constitutional crisis and political disorder in the country.
Chief Afe Babalola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), on Monday, called for an Interim National Government after the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure that would pave way for a new constitution for the country.
Shinkafi called on Nigerians to reject in totality the call for interim National Government.
He said anyone who is making that call does not mean well for the country and termed it as invitation to anarchy and political disorder.
“For anybody in this country, no matter his title in this country call for Interim National Government is not wishing this country well, this is an invitation to anarchy, this is an invitation to constitution clashes and this is invitation to cause serious political disorder in this country,” he said.
“I call on each and every respected Nigerians to reject the call for constitution of Interim National Government after the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari administration, this is unpatriotic and invitation to anarchy.”
The APC chieftain also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to tighten his belt to address the prevailing security challenges currently facing the country.
He observed that the attack on the Abuja-Kaduna in bound train was a situation which has never happened in the history of Nigeria and there is need to deploy modern technology to combat the insecurity.
“I called on Mr President as the Commander in Chief of Armed forces of Federal Republic of Nigeria to deploy more security to some areas and to also deploy more technology and to give go-ahead to Nigerian Airforce to start using Super Tucano to make sure that all these armed bandits insurgents are flushed out of this country.”
