Nearly 50 days after the abduction of 39 schoolchildren and seven teachers in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State, concerns continue to grow as the victims remain in captivity.

Social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has claimed that the Oyo State Government paid a ransom in an attempt to secure the victims’ freedom, but alleged that the abductors failed to release them afterward. The claim has not been independently verified, and the Oyo State Government has not issued any official confirmation.

The prolonged ordeal has fueled fresh calls for urgent action, with many Nigerians urging both the federal and Oyo State governments, alongside security agencies, to step up efforts to rescue the children and teachers safely.

Relatives of the abducted victims continue to await their return, while members of the public are demanding regular updates on efforts to secure their release.
