Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade, operating under Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have thwarted a kidnapping plot and freed three abducted persons in Taraba State following a coordinated, intelligence-driven mission.

The operation took place on January 5, 2026, after soldiers stationed in Jeb Jeb town received actionable intelligence indicating the presence and movement of suspected kidnappers around Sangai Village in Bachama Ward, Karim Lamido Local Government Area.
Responding promptly, the troops moved to intercept the suspects and pursued them toward the Taraba–Plateau border.
The kidnappers, overwhelmed by the soldiers’ advance, abandoned their victims and escaped into the surrounding bush.
