A young Nigerian woman, identified as Fems, has shared a disturbing account of how she and a friend were allegedly assaulted by a man pretending to represent a modeling agency in Lagos. The ordeal, which reportedly occurred in Ajao Estate, highlights the risks faced by aspiring models when pursuing seemingly lucrative opportunities in the city.
Fems recounted the incident in a viral TikTok video, explaining that it began on February 1, 2026, when she received an Instagram message from a man claiming to launch an international brand in Nigeria. He offered her a modeling job with a payment of 140,000 Naira, citing her online presence. Excited but cautious, she informed her parents and invited a friend for safety.
The shoot was scheduled at No. 8 Asalu Street, Ajao Estate, but upon arrival the house was empty. The man offered water and asked Fems to change into a robe while dismissing her friend’s attempts to join. Suspicious events escalated when the man brandished a knife, tied and gagged the women, and allegedly sexually assaulted them, citing revenge against another model. He also accessed their phones, threatening Fems not to speak out, and eventually chased them out of the house.
Fems ended her video appealing for justice, prompting public outrage. Lagos authorities have not commented, but women’s rights advocates are urging victims to report such incidents and exercise caution when engaging with unverified opportunities in modeling.
