The country home of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Prof George Obiozor, at Awo- Omanma in the Oru East Local Government Area of Imo state has been burnt by yet to be identified gunmen.
The hoodlums who reportedly came in a convoy of cars were spotted throwing explosives at the house on Saturday morning.
The former ambassador was not at home at the time of the attack but it was captured on the CCTV Cameras installed in the compound.
Though Professor Obiozor has not made a statement on the attack, one of the leaders of Ohanaeze Ndigbo who pleaded anonymity confirmed the incident.
He called on the police to fish out those who carried out the arson.
The police spokesperson in the state, Michael Abattam, is yet to respond to an inquiry concerning the attack on Obiozor’s country home.
The attack on Obiozor’s country home happens same morning the Umuguma Divisional Police Headquarters in the Owerri West LGA of the state was burnt with two police constabularies reportedly killed and properties worth millions of Naira burnt.
