FORMER LAWMAKERS OF THE ENUGU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY FELICITATE MBAH @ NIGERIA 64.
The Former Lawmakers of the Enugu State House of Assembly (FLENSHA) felicitate His Excellency, Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah on the occasion of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary.
The FLENSHA is a non-partisan umbrella body comprising the former speakers, deputy speakers, principal officers and indeed all the former lawmakers of the Enugu State House of Assembly many of whom are at present in different political parties, diverse vocations and even in retirement.
This felicitation is borne out of excitement in some tangible outcome of the governor’s disruptive governance paradigm in Enugu State.
We are delighted by the rehabilitation of the Hotel Presidential Enugu, the International Conference Centre, Enugu and the Sunrise Flour Mills, Emene Enugu. Others include the SMART school program in the 260 electoral wards in Enugu State; the Enugu City project which spans five local government areas; level 2 healthcare facilities across the 260 electoral wards; the Enugu State Electricity Law; massive road infrastructure, amongst others.
Some of the most endearing among the vision of the state government is the drive to boost the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Enugu State from the $4.4 billion to at least $30 billion within the next four to eight years, and the target of a zero percent poverty rate in the State; the plan to leverage the economic proximity between Ugwuoba, a boundary community in Enugu State, and the Awka Capital Territory in Anambra State, etc.
The former lawmakers are impressed that the governor of Enugu State is rated high amongst the 36 State governors.
We therefore, seize this opportunity of Independence Anniversary to urge the governor not to relent in his efforts to key into the lofty vision of the Founders of Enugu State.
