Dare Williams, a 23-year old Federal College of Education , Akoka, Lagos undergraduate has been arrested by the Police for snatching a vehicle from a Uber Driver, Njenje Media News can report.
In his confession to the Police. he said he committed the crime because he’s a musician that needs money to feature music maestros, Davido or Run town.
Dare Williams had together with his friend, 18-year old Bethel Chukwuocha conspired to snatch a Toyota Corolla car from one Clement Aniegbe on Monday night.
The suspects, who were armed with a kitchen knife had reportedly ordered a ride from Clement from Lekki to Gbagada and in the process of they being conveyed by the Uber driver, threatened Clement Aniegbe with the weapon and sedatives for him to abandon the car and his mobile device.
In his confessional statement, Dare Williams said his plan was to sell the car for a million naira and then use the proceeds to promote his musical career and feature artistes like Davido and Runtown. He told newsmen that he resorted to the fast lane means after help wasn’t forthcoming from people around him.
Njenje Media News quotes the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Mr Hakeem Odumosu saying the suspects were arrested Tuesday, December 22.
