Mother of a kidnapped passenger from a GUO Transport bus has made a desperate public appeal after abductors demanded a N50 million ransom for her child. In a viral video, the distraught woman said she could not afford the amount and pleaded with Nigerians for help, revealing she had tried negotiating for N10 million but received no response from the kidnappers.
She explained that the abductors issued a strict deadline, intensifying fears over her daughter’s safety. Speaking emotionally, the widow said she has no financial means to meet the demand, noting that her husband is late and she is solely responsible for her child.
The incident stems from a recent attack on a GUO Transport bus along the Benin–Ore axis of the expressway, where gunmen reportedly ambushed the vehicle, killed the driver, and abducted several passengers. Eyewitnesses described how victims were forcefully taken into the bush, leaving behind a chaotic and terrifying scene.
The attack underscores growing insecurity along the Benin–Lagos Expressway, a major route increasingly associated with kidnappings and violent crime. Families of the victims, including the woman’s daughter, remain in distress as uncertainty surrounds their fate and efforts to secure their release continue.
