Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole has said that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has effectively become what he described as the All Progressives Congress, APC’s “best campaign manager.”
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Oshiomhole argued that Atiku’s recent political engagements amount to indirect support for the ruling party, as he continues to engage in verbal attacks against opposition figures, including Peter Obi and others.
According to him, the APC is not concerned about opposition parties such as the African Democratic Congress, ADC, and the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.
He said: “You mean that APC would be worried about ADC, NDC? I saw Atiku, he is now our best campaign manager because he is attacking Obi, and I see Obi attacking Amaechi.”
Oshiomhole’s comments come amid ongoing political realignments within Nigeria’s opposition space, where key figures have continued to shift alliances and party platforms ahead of future elections.
Atiku and Obi had previously run on the same political ticket before later parting ways following Obi’s defection to the Labour Party, under which he contested the 2023 presidential election.
In January 2026, Obi reportedly rejoined Atiku within the ADC before moving again to the NDC a few days ago, reflecting continued fluidity in opposition politics.
It is also being speculated within political circles that Obi may team up with Rabiu Kwankwaso on the NDC platform for a future presidential bid.
