RNA HAILS EMERGENCY SENATE SITTING AS A TRIUMPH OF PEOPLE’S POWER
The Rescue Nigeria Alliance (RNA) welcomes the decision of the Senate to reconvene an emergency plenary sitting on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, as a clear victory for the Nigerian people and a powerful affirmation of democratic accountability.
The directive by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, conveyed through a statement signed by the Clerk of the Senate, follows nationwide outrage and sustained civic pressure by Nigerians who refused to accept legislative actions disconnected from the will of the people.

This moment belongs to Nigerians.
It proves, once again, that when citizens organize, speak out, and act collectively, those in authority are compelled to listen.
The #OccupyNASS civic action led by the Rescue Nigeria Alliance has demonstrated that the era of political indifference is ending. Nigerians have shown resolve, maturity, and unity in demanding transparency, accountability, and respect for democratic norms.
However, the Rescue Nigeria Alliance emphasizes that this emergency sitting is only the first step—not the destination. True victory lies in outcomes that reflect the clear demands of the people, not in mere procedural gestures.
Accordingly, the RNA calls on Nigerians:
• To remain vigilant
• To peacefully maintain presence and pressure
• To closely monitor proceedings at the National Assembly
This is a defining moment in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
The message has been sent. It must now be received, understood, and acted upon.
Nigeria belongs to her people.
And the people have spoken.
Signed:
Rescue Nigeria Alliance (RNA)
